BNTA treats your privacy rights seriously. This Privacy Policy sets out how we will deal with your personal information
When you join you are asked to provide certain information when you complete the Application Form.
This includes:
• Name/s
• Address
• Email address
• Telephone Number
• National Trust membership number/s
Also we will request that you provide consent for us to store and use your data. Your consent is required in order to ensure our compliance with data protection legislation which comes into force in May 2018.
We use your data
• To provide details of our activities and services to you, as in the Newsletter.
• For administration, planning and management of our Association.
• To monitor, develop and improve the provision of our Association’s activities
We will send you the Newsletter, by email or post, to advise you of our activities and other information which the Association feels would be of interest to members. We would also like to be able to contact you sometimes, for instance last minute changes or cancellations of outings or meetings in an emergency.
Where we need to share your information with anyone outside of our association, before doing so we will seek your permission and inform you as to whom the data will be shared with and for what purpose.
We keep your data so that we can provide our services to you. Your data will not be stored for longer than required to meet the needs of your membership.
To ensure that the data we hold is accurate and up to date, members need to inform us about any changes to their data. You can do this by contacting the Secretary and we will usually respond within 14 days of the request being made.
We have in place safeguards to protect your data against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access. Your membership data is held on a spreadsheet and only accessed by the Membership Secretary, the Secretary and a few other Committee members, as appropriate for a single purpose.
Your data is not shared with anyone outside of BNTA for mailing purposes as the printed newsletters are mailed by our BNTA Newsletter Distributors.
